“Getting schools on the move – Together for a healthy lifestyle”, this year’s slogan was the focus of a seminar organised by the Hungarian School Sport Federation (HSSF) from the 27th to 29th of March in Budapest. 50 participants arrived from 28 countries to attend workshops on implementing the 2019 European School Sport Day® (ESSD) in all European countries. The seminar was held in the conference room of Hotel Gellért, one of the most famous, historic hotels in Budapest.
During the three days of the seminar participants were shown ideas on how to implement ESSD in their own country. Presentation topics varied from healthy nutrition, the importance of hydration, fruit and vegetable intake, communication strategies including social media, event management and best practices.
Zoltán Boronyai, Expert at HSSF, talks about the reasons to join ESSD:
“ESSD can be a powerful tool that has a significant effect on the students’ physical activity habits, building positive attitudes towards sport, playing together in schools and of course healthy eating. We are excited about the events this September and in the upcoming years“.
